で指定すればいけると思います。

.large-thumbを付けたいとするなら、そのclassが付いてるのは.new-entry-cardより外側なので

の順番になるように思います。

現在固定ページでトップページを作っているのですが、

どうしても新着記事のフォントサイズが小さくなりません。

#main を消してみたり、
.new-entry-cards にしてみたり、
追加CSSにではなく、テーマエディタのstyle.cssに貼ってみたりと、
いくつか思い付くものを試したのですが変わりない状態です。

解決法ご存知の方いらっしゃいましたら、何卒宜しくお願いします。
